This seminar introduces participants to structured approaches to knowledge creation in behavioral science. Alongside understanding epistemological foundations, participants will learn about the interplay of theory and empirical research to craft convincing empirical packages for research papers aiming to make theoretical contributions. Emphasis is placed on behavioral science, particularly experimental designs, though the course is suitable for various fields within management science.
Students are expected to actively participate in the discussions, as well as to prepare and present a registered report aiming to contribute to existing theory. Grades will be based on the presentation of the registered report (15-minute presentation, 15-minute discussion), covering the following elements: introduction and background, methodology (study/experimental design and procedures), analysis plan, expected outcomes, and theoretical contributions.
