You want to study abroad for one or two semesters - at LMU Munich School of Management? Then you will find all the important information on the academic planning and implementation of your stay here.

For organizational matters, please refer to the pages of the LMU International Office.

Step by Step: Joining LMU Munich School of Management

In order to start an exchange semester at LMU Munich School of Management you must first be nominated by your home university. Please contact your coordinator at home.

As soon as your university has nominated you, you will receive further information about the application and will be asked to fill out your preliminary Learning Agreement. Information on this can be found in the section "Course Selection".

Nomination Deadlines:
15.04. Study for the winter semester or for the entire academic year.
15.10. Study for the summer semester

Application deadlines:
15.05. Study for the winter semester or for the entire academic year.
15.11. Study for the summer semester

Please refer to the LMU's website for the current lecture times.

Munich School of Management exams can take place up to 3 weeks after the last day of lectures.

As a part of your application you will be asked to fill out your Learning Agreement as part of your application. This shall contain a list of the courses you would like to study at LMU.

Since the Learning Agreement is created well in advance of your stay, it can only be considered a preliminary course selection and is NOT an automatic course enrollment.

For this preliminary Learning Agreement, please check the university and faculty websites for the courses offered so far. The easiest way to do this is to use the course list (PDF, 181 KB), where we summarize the courses offered in English at LMU Munich School of Management.

You can also search for courses in our online system "LSF". This is also possible without LMU log-in. Also and especially if you are looking for courses held in German, the LSF is very helpful. Here you can make filter settings so that only selected courses are displayed.

Basic information about the different types of courses can be found here (PDF, 75 KB).

You can create the final Learning Agreement at the beginning of the semester. Approximately 2 months before the semester starts, the course list is revised and indicates possible registration deadlines. More information can also be found in the presentation (PDF, 1,373 KB) held during the Information Session

It is mandatory that you find out about the courses offered and the registration deadlines approximately 2 months before the semester begins!

Our major courses can only be taken by students enrolled in Business/ Economics. We offer minor courses for students of other disciplines: Minor in Business Administration.

If you are interested in courses from other faculties, please check the relevant pages of the LMU International Office for more information.

Information about exam dates and registration:

Exam dates can be found in the course descriptions and in the Klausurmasterplan (compulsory modules only).

Exam registration has to be done online via the LSF. The time frame is announced on the ISC page, usually mid-December - mid-January for the winter semester and mid-May - mid-June for the summer semester.

A step by step guide for the exam regsitration can be found here: Exam Registration (PDF, 1,656 KB)

Please be aware that the exam registration is mandatory and has to be done within the given time frame. Otherwise participation in the exam is not possible.

The lecture room schedule to find out in which room each exam will be taken is available for download from the ISC approximately two weeks prior to the exam period.

Exam Review:
If you have failed an exam, there is an "exam review" in each course, usually around mid-March for the winter semester and in October for the summer semester. The exact date will be announced on the institute's website.

There is no immediate retake option, exams can only be retaken in the following semester or year (depending on the course) if you are still enrolled.

You have successfully completed your time at LMU Munich School of Management and would now like to have your achievements credited at your home university - then you need your Transcript of Records.

As the transcript is not issued automatically, you have to start the process yourself:
