And last but not least, you will benefit from the excellent quality of life in Munich - whether it is leisure opportunities such as sports, culture or nightlife, or the great working conditions during and after your studies - the Bavarian capital is one of the most beautiful and fastest growing cities in Europe. The location of the university in the heart of Maxvorstadt directly next to the English Garden could not be better.

"The exceptional quality and practical relevance of the master course is demonstrated by the fact that we not only prioritized the target groups it analyzed, but also addressed them with a completely new approach in a joint pilot project." Christian Ernst Teichmann, Head of Communications Presidency and Financial Issues, ALLIANZ DEUTSCHLAND AG, Munich.

"When choosing a suitable university for my master's degree, I specifically looked for state universities with a very good reputation. In the end, I chose the LMU in Munich, because there scientific standards meet an excellent quality of life in this wonderful city. (...) After a good four months, I can say that I have settled in well and am enjoying life in Munich. The commitment of the professors and staff at the LMU is exemplary and first-class and, in my own experience, is in no way inferior to the dedication of lecturers at private universities. The experiences I have had here have enriched me greatly. I do not regret my decision and feel very comfortable at LMU." Hubertus Theissen, former student

"We have been working with LMU's Faculty of Business Administration every semester without interruption for the past three years. The master's students with whom we have worked through project courses during this time have brought a breath of fresh air and in-depth knowledge to our projects. At the same time, we were able to pass on our field-tested knowledge to the students. The cooperation has been a complete success - the project studies in the MSc in Business Administration is an institution that all involved enjoy and that provides directly visible benefits." Dr. Thomas Marquardt, Global Head of Human Resources, Infineon Technologies AG, Neubiberg, Germany

"The small groups and the resulting new opportunities in teaching are very enjoyable. The range of events (in the next semesters) is also impressive." Christian Böhm, former student

"By successfully completing the exam, students not only acquire an important additional professional qualification before entering the working world, but also gain a sustainable competitive advantage when entering the financial industry." Gerhard Bauer, Head of Capital Markets Academy, Deutsche Börse AG, Frankfurt on the Finance Project Course - Examination for "Certified Exchange Trader Eurex".

"The good impression I had of this course beforehand has been confirmed for me. I enjoy being able to continue working in small groups and meeting new fellow students with a wide variety of backgrounds. Even though the master's program at LMU is still relatively young, it still proves worthwhile to be able to complete it within the established structures of a traditional university." Marina VODICKA, former student

"The project courses with the LMU master's students have shown us how valuable a connection between theory and practice is. We receive analytically and empirically obtained answers to concrete questions from our corporate reality. Particularly valuable for us is the fresh view with which the students approach the topics we have defined." Dr. Jörg Lübcke, Managing Director BURDA DIGITAL GmbH, Munich

Facultatively, we require the following documents for direct qualification for the selection interview:

Admission to the 1st semester takes place once a year, in the winter semester. The application for the aptitude test must be submitted in writing and in full to the Faculty of Business Administration for the following winter semester in the period from February to May 15 at the latest (cut-off deadline). Subsequent submission of documents/scores after the application deadline is excluded. To meet the deadline, simple copies of score reports attached directly to the application are sufficient.

To apply, please complete the application form online (in German) and upload all necessary documents (see What documents do I need for a successful application?).

In the case of an application for a higher semester, in addition to the application documents you will need a placement certificate for the higher semester. This requires that for each semester that is to be credited, approx. 30 ECTS have been acquired in an equivalent Master's program and can be recognized. Please be sure to contact us in good time so that the assessment of the classification can take place before the application deadline (at least 4 weeks before the application deadline). The application for the aptitude test itself must then be submitted in writing and in full to the Faculty of Business Administration by January 15 for the following summer semester and by May 15 for the winter semester (cut-off deadline).

An unsuccessful eligibility procedure may be repeated once, but not earlier than the next enrollment date. A further repetition is excluded.

The standard period of study is 4 semesters, during which 120 ECTS credits must be earned. The maximum period of study is 6 semesters.

The costs for the Master's program result from the basic fee of the LMU and the additional fee for the semester ticket.

If you have any questions regarding your application, please feel free to contact Dr. Sandra Baringhorst at any time. You can reach us by phone at +49 089 2180-3902.

Only applications that are complete in the sense of the Eligibility Statutes (in German) (PDF, 72 KB) (in conjunction with the Amendment Statutes (in German) (PDF, 23 KB) dated June 18, 2012) and submitted by the deadline have a legal right to be admitted to the further examination procedure for admission to the master's program.
