Executive Master of Insurance Executive Master of Insurance (EMI)

The Executive Master of Insurance (E.M. Insurance) is a part-time degree program with a clear focus on insurance-related topics. The program enables highly motivated professionals to acquire additional background knowledge as well as to deepen and broaden already existing knowledge. The core topics are insurance-related issues, ranging from general economics and mathematics to specific institutional issues. The focus is on today's challenges in the rapidly changing insurance markets.

Munich is one of the leading insurance locations worldwide and has the highest number of employees in the insurance industry in Germany. The industry-oriented program relies on a close integration of science and practice. A large number of renowned professors from the LMU Munich School of Management are involved with their teaching, which is supplemented by experienced lecturers from the field.

The two-year part-time program is aimed at specialists and managers in insurance companies, risk management functions and in consulting firms with at least two years of qualified professional experience.

Concept
The Executive Master of Insurance (E.M. Insurance) is a business degree program for highly motivated professionals that allows them to gain additional insurance-related background knowledge as well as deepen and broaden existing knowledge.
Theory & Practice
Expert knowledge from a first university degree and professional experience is deepened and expanded with an insurance science focus. The main objective is to deepen and consolidate theoretical and applied knowledge with an insurance science focus. The program offers research-based, industry-specific and practice-oriented continuing education. Current market developments such as digitalization and its impact on the insurance business as well as the regulatory framework and its management implications are important components of the program, the content of which is taught in a continuous exchange between business and academia. The concept for the E.M. Insurance was developed in close cooperation between several Munich insurance companies and the Munich Risk and Insurance Center (MRIC) at LMU.
Lecturers
The degree program offers a strong link between science and practice. Our lecturers include renowned teachers from the Munich School of Management as well as experienced practitioners from industry.
Structure and duration
The duration of the program is 24 months, with classes spread over 4 semesters. The program consists of 90 ECTS credits earned in weekend or one-week sessions.
Completion
Graduates receive the academic degree "Executive Master of Insurance (E.M. Insurance)" from LMU Munich.
