  • You are expected to be notified of the preliminary allocation by email end of June.
  • Each student will be allocated a maximum of one place. If you would like to take up a second place in the main seminar, you can participate in the allocation of remaining places (see allocation of remaining places).

How is it allocated?

In order to ensure that every student receives a place in an advanced seminar during the course of his or her studies and is thus eligible to take on a Bachelor's thesis, the first allocation criterion is the number of semesters*. Students in higher semesters who have not yet fulfilled the admission requirements for the Bachelor thesis will be allocated a place on a priority basis. The second allocation criterion is seminar preferences. For students who would like to complete an advanced seminar as scheduled in the 5th or 6th semester, preferences are given greater consideration.

* If students in the < 4th semester (possibly due to a change of subject) already have an ECTS number equivalent to the 5th semester, they will be treated as students in the 5th/6th semester by providing appropriate proof (by email to hauptseminare@som.lmu.de).
