Together into the future: Our faculty warmly welcomed the new first semester students during the First Days.
Our faculty warmly welcomed the new first semester students during the First Days. The orientation phase, which offers new students a good start to university life every winter semester, took place last week. The orientation phase is an important basis for all new students to gather valuable information and make initial contacts through numerous activities and introductions. Traditionally, the Dean of the Faculty, the student representatives and the tutors welcome the new students.
For three days, students had the opportunity to get to know the campus on a guided tour and receive valuable support in drawing up their timetables. A presentation by the Information and Service Center for our students (ISC) provided all the important information about the examination regulations and the central study regulations. Students were also able to meet some members of the professorate and ask questions.
They then went on to WASTI e.V., the student council for business administration and economics. They offer all students a good point of contact for all questions relating to student life and the two faculties during their time at university. Here, the students received information about the structure and the numerous activities and were also able to pick up an important reference book: the “Ersti-Hilfe”. They continued with the coveted WASTI goodie bag to the next stop, the Alumni Office, which is part of the faculty's Marketing, Relationship & Career Center (MRCC).
Alumni Management is the responsibility of Dr. Bettina Wachtel and Laura-Sophie Hinz, who explained to the new students the wide range of career opportunities, events and services available to them during their studies and beyond. As a welcome gift, everyone received a welcome package filled to the brim with various goodies and information from the partners and sponsoring companies.
“The start of the semester is always something special and we look forward to accompanying our first-year students on this exciting journey. With our TOP-BWL program and numerous events, we offer our Bachelor students the opportunity to gain valuable insights into practice, establish new networks and gain great experiences. We look forward to creating a successful semester together with all students. Welcome to the university network!”, says Dr. Bettina Wachtel, Managing Director of LMU Management Alumni e.V.
Another highlight of the start of the semester was the Master's Bootcamp for the new Master's students. On the Master's Welcome Day, the new students not only gained valuable insights into their study program, but also made friends and proved at the Master's Bootcamp that they are well prepared for the challenges ahead.
“The Master Bootcamp was a complete success with a great mix of information, fun and networking. With so much motivation and positive energy, we are really looking forward to an exciting semester with our new Master's students. Welcome - we can hardly wait to start our time together with you!” says Prof. Dr. Yvette Hofmann, Head of Student Relationship and Master Honors Program.
In addition to the academic part, the focus was also on socializing: in a relaxed atmosphere, students were able to socialize and make new friends in various bars. The Erstitage not only offer a comprehensive insight into university life, but are also a wonderful opportunity to be part of the community right from the start.
LMU Munich School of Management is delighted to welcome so many new students and wishes them a good start. We wish our “long-established” students a good start and continued success!
