DFG is funding the supra-regional collaborative research center "TRR 266 Accounting for Transparency" for another four years.

The German Research Foundation (DFG) has decided to extend the funding of the Collaborative Research Center "TRR 266 Accounting for Transparency" by another four years.

Meaningful and evidence-based regulations, improved corporate reporting and a more transparent tax system - these are the goals pursued by TRR 266.

The research area deals with the role of transparency in relation to societal challenges. Launched in 2019 as the first collaborative research center with a business focus, the team of more than 100 researchers from eight German universities has been investigating over the past four years how accounting, taxation and regulations influence the transparency of companies and what effects this has on the economy and society.

The focus of the coming funding period is on deepening research and the role of transparency and regulation in overcoming societal challenges such as sustainability and crises. The research is based on evidence-based methods and extensive data and is promoted through exchanges with external researchers, politicians, regulators and companies.

The Collaborative Research Center attaches great importance to the idea of open science and strives for transparency and accessibility of research results for the public.
