The faculty welcomes Prof. Dr. Marvin Nipper, who will serve as a substitute for Prof. Dr. Thorsten Sellhorn at the Institute of Accounting and Auditing for the summer semester of 2026.
The faculty welcomes Prof. Dr. Marvin Nipper, who will serve as a substitute for Prof. Dr. Thorsten Sellhorn at the Institute of Accounting and Auditing for the summer semester of 2026.
Prof. Dr. Marvin Nipper studied business administration at the Hessian Vocational Academy in cooperation with KHS GmbH in Dortmund, where he worked in the controlling department. He subsequently earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting & Finance from the University of Duisburg-Essen and, as part of a double-degree program, an MBA from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. In 2022, he received his Ph.D. from the University of Duisburg-Essen. During his doctoral studies, he also conducted research at the University of Florida in Gainesville.
After earning his doctorate, Prof. Dr. Marvin Nipper worked in the Sustainability & Climate Action Team at the strategy consulting firm Roland Berger. Since December 2023, he has been an assistant professor of sustainability reporting at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg.
His research focuses in particular on the effects of increased requirements for sustainability reporting, as well as factors that influence companies’ environmental performance. With his expertise in sustainability reporting, governance, and corporate management, he brings valuable insights to research and teaching at the faculty.
