Visit to the Andy Warhol and Keith Haring exhibition at Museum Brandhorst

The members of the Alumni Association of the LMU Munich School of Management were invited by LMU Alumni Management to take part in a guided tour of the current exhibition at the Museum Brandhorst, which is dedicated to the works of pop art icons Andy Warhol and Keith Haring.

With its exhibition, the museum offered a comprehensive insight into the world of Pop Art, which shaped the 1980s and 1990s with bold colors, iconic motifs and socio-critical messages. What was particularly impressive was how both artists combined everyday objects and pop culture with profound themes such as identity, consumption and activism in their works. This brought us back full circle to BWL.

Andy Warhol's works, including his famous portraits and serial prints, showed his unique perspective on consumer society and the media world. Keith Haring's expressive lines and vibrant colors reflected his messages of equality, love and activism, which are still relevant today.

In addition to the works of art, the modern architecture of the Museum Brandhorst was also impressive, providing an ideal setting for the presentation of the works and also offering the perfect setting for an alumni reunion.

This visit was not only a short journey through art history and into our own past, but also provided an impetus to reflect on the social issues that the two artists addressed in their works.

We would like to thank the LMU Alumni Management for organizing this little journey into art and culture and look forward to the next event!
