Marko Sarstedt and Susanne Adler and their team were honored with the SaxFDM Open Data Award for their outstanding research data management.
At the 5th SaxFDM Conference at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg, the research team with Prof. Marko Sarstedt and Susanne Adler as well as Martina Schoeniger and Marcel Lichters were presented with the SaxFDM Open Data Award for their outstanding research data management.
The award recognizes the team's commitment to the free availability and reusability of research data.
The award-winning project “Forty years of context effect research in marketing: A bibliometric analysis” focuses on the analysis of context effects in the field of marketing, such as the attraction effect and the trade-off effect.
In addition to publishing the research results, a comprehensive repository has been set up on the Open Science Framework (OSF) platform. This repository contains all relevant data, analysis scripts and additional evaluations and makes it possible to make the research transparent and comprehensible.
In addition, the team has developed an interactive web app that allows users to adapt the analyses to individual questions.
These measures serve to promote openness and transparency in science and enable other researchers to build on the existing data and results.
The Open Data Award particularly recognizes projects that strive for the free accessibility and reusability of research data.
The team's work shows how important structured and transparent research data management is for science.
