Alumni explore the Munich Opera on an exclusive tour

The alumni association of the LMU Munich School of Management recently visited the Munich Opera as part of a special tour. The members of the association had the opportunity to get to know the opera house from the inside and learn more about its history and architecture.

The tour began in the entrance hall of the opera, where the guests were warmly welcomed by the association's managing director, Bettina Wachtel. The impressive design of the building and the magnificent ambience never fail to impress. The guests visited the various areas that are otherwise closed to visitors to a performance. In addition to lots of interesting information, the alumni were able to look behind the scenes in the truest sense of the word. The backdrop for the evening performance was set up on the stage, backdrops from other productions and the grid could be admired in the backstage area, and deep below the stage the labyrinth of ropes, trains and movable stage parts.

A highlight of the tour was the visit to the auditorium, which is known for its opulent design. Alumni were able to sit in the royal box and admire the magnificent architecture, including the grand chandelier and statues reflecting the history of the opera. They also received information about the famous productions and personalities who have performed on this stage or attended the performances over time.

Another interesting part of the tour was the direct view of the orchestra pit, which was being prepared for the musicians' rehearsal. The tour of the Munich Opera was an enriching experience for the members of the alumni association.

They received a comprehensive insight into the world of opera and were able to get to know the impressive architecture and the artistic work behind the scenes. The event ended with a visit to the Franziskaner, where the alumni had the opportunity to exchange ideas and share their experiences.
