Prof. Dr. Anne-Sophie Mayer as Panelist at Medientagen München 2025

28 Oct 2025

At Medientage München, Prof. Dr. Anne-Sophie Mayer discussed the opportunities, risks, and the role of trust in the future of AI-supported media.

How is artificial intelligence transforming the media industry? How can humans remain visible in the process?

These and many more exciting questions were at the heart of the panel discussion "Trusted AI: Vertrauen als Garant der digitalen Medienwelt" at Medientage München, where Prof. Dr. Mayer took part as a panelist .

Together with Prof. Dr. Thomas Hess (LMU) and Katja Modder (KPMG) she explored the vast potential of AI for hyper-personalization of journalistic content. AI may enable new approaches to reach diverse audiences and make media more accessible.

At the same time, the discussion highlighted significant challenges: AI-generated content is becoming increasingly difficult to identify, making media transparency, media literacy, and ethical responsibility more crucial than ever. The panel identified that trust will become the key currency of the future - built through transparent AI practices, clear labeling of AI-generated content, and verifiable sources.

The engaging exchange during the panel and the subsequent "Nacht der Medien" once again showed how dynamic and forward-looking the current debate on AI in the media world truly is.
