Strategic and organizational aspects of digital transformation have become indispensable considerations for firms aiming to stay competitive. Besides having own reasons to go digital, firms face substantial external pressure from shareholders, clients, and competitors in this direction. Often, digital transformation requires a substantial departure from firms’ status quo of doing business. We are interested in how firms can successfully navigate this change. Amongst others, we analyze how boards can support top managers in taking on new digital orientations and mind sets, workers and clients respond to digital transformation, and (re)organization as well as change management can facilitate its success.
