For the first time, students had the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of a tax department of an international corporation. Students in the "Tax Honors" program who had excelled in tax courses at Prof. Dr. Schanz's institute had the opportunity to do so in June.

The students were invited by the Munich-based Knorr-Bremse Group to first get to know the basic organization and work processes of the in-house tax department under the leadership of Alexandra Opelt at a workshop. The fact that tax issues are not just a matter for in-house specialists, but also require effective cooperation with tax consultants, was then explained to the students by KMLZ's sales tax experts, Prof. Dr. Oliver Zugmaier and Dr. Christian Salder.

After the technical part and a short refreshment break, the current technical challenges and developments were explained to the students at the technically impressive Knorr-Bremse test stands, where various braking processes can be simulated realistically (weather conditions included). Of course, a brief visit to the company's own museum was not to be missed.

The evening ended with another networking opportunity at the Augustiner Spiegelwirt in Munich-Moosach.
