Course content
In this course, students examine critical management challenges in identifying problems to solve and opportunity spaces to innovate in, as well as in populating the solution domain. Conceptual frameworks, theories, and empirical evidence are collectively analyzed towards supporting decision-making in the innovation. The course covers a range of topics to give students a well-rounded understanding of innovation management, such as: Innovation Fundamentals - introduction to the concept of innovation, different types of innovation; Innovation Strategy - exploring different innovation models, such as open innovation and disruptive innovation and developing innovation strategy that aligns with the organization's goals, culture, and resources; Metrics and Evaluation - key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of innovation initiatives, etc."
Course objective
The course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the processes, strategies, and techniques involved in generating and sustaining a continuous flow of innovative ideas within organizations. The goal is to equip students with the skills needed to effectively manage the entire lifecycle of innovation, from idea generation to successful implementation. By the end of this course, students will have a solid understanding of key managerial challenges associated with the innovation portfolios, and will be familiar with the concepts and tools to effectively manage those challenges.
