The project course addresses exciting developments in innovation management while bridging the divide between practice and research. Students work with practitioners and research faculty to explore and answer innovation-related challenges using rigorous research methods.

Course Content
The project course “Innovation Management” provides students an opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge to real-life project situations. For the duration of the semester, student teams will work on projects with partner companies (partners in the past: Porsche Consulting, BMW, HDI, Spie, etc.). The project topics focus on innovation management questions.
Course Objective
The goal of the project course is to work scientifically on practitioner questions and learn to translate scientific knowledge into practical contexts and vice versa.

What is this course about?

This course addresses a plethora of exciting developments in innovation management for the students to dive into in collaboration with our practice partners. Research into topics such as AI-based ideation, open innovation of the future, and innovation-enabled data generation will be part of this project course. Students will work on a unique practice-oriented research question with one of our project partners and find managerial, practical as well as theoretical solutions for their specific problems.

What will I gain from this course?

Student will develop the skills to analyze practical challenges and synthesize realistic theory- and research-driven solutions. This requires students to conduct empirical data collection and analysis in the form of literature reviews, interviews, and potentially others to present a workable solution to the practice partner.

Course Schedule.
