Curriculum vitae:Marko is a Chaired Professor of Marketing at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich (Germany) and Adjunct Research Professor at Babeș-Bolyai-University Cluj.

Prior to that, he was Professor of Marketing at Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg from August 2012 to September 2021. Prior to that, he was Junior Professor for Quantitative Methods in Marketing and Management at Ludwig-Maximilian-University Munich, where he also received his doctorate in 2008. In 2022, he was awarded an honorary doctorate from Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj for his outstanding research and contributions to international collaborations.

His research has been published in journals across various fields, such as Nature Human Behaviour, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Organizational Research Methods, MIS Quarterly, Psychometrika, British Journal of Mathematical and Statistical Psychology, Decision Sciences, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Journal of World Business, and Journal of Business Research. Marko has co-authored four widely adopted textbooks, including“A Primer on Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM)” (together with Joe F. Hair, G. Tomas M. Hult, and Christian M. Ringle), which has been translated into ten languages.

His research ranks among the most frequently cited in the social sciences with more than 150,000 citations according to Google Scholar. Since 2018, Marko has been named a member at Clarivate Analytic's Highly Cited Researcher List, which includes the "world's most impactful scientific researchers". His research has been covered by the leading media outlets such as Die Zeit, Huffington Post, and Spiegel and has been featured in documentaries on consumer behavior on arte and MDR as well as on the scientific video platform Latest Thinking.
