Teaching Profile

Why do banks play such an important role in an economy? What are the effects of their activities. Empirical observations and theoretical explanations are discussed. Substantive and methodological aspects are taught in our courses. Focus is on the role and regulation of banks and the operational banking business. Basics of game theory and quantitative methods of capital market and financing theory are taught and applied. The combination of theoretical and practical aspects provides students with a comprehensive understanding of banking and finance.

Interest in modern financial methods and in corporate finance and banking from both practical and theoretical perspectives. Good basic knowledge of mathematics and statistics. You like to work in the international financial industry, related institutions, or in the finance departments of larger industrial companies in the future.
