Purposes and legal basis for the processing of personal data

The purpose of the processing is the fulfillment of the public tasks assigned to us by the legislator, in particular to inform the public.

Unless otherwise stated, the legal basis for the processing of your data results from Art. 4 (1) of the Bavarian Data Protection Act (BayDSG) in conjunction with Art. 6 (1) subpara. (UAbs.) 1 letter e of the 1 Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO). Accordingly, we are allowed to process the data necessary for the fulfillment of a task for which we are responsible.

Recipients of personal data

The technical operation of our data processing systems is carried out by Qualtrics.

If necessary, your data will be transmitted to the responsible supervisory and auditing authorities to exercise the respective control rights.

To prevent threats to security in information technology, data can be transmitted electronically to the State Office for Security in Information Technology and processed there on the basis of Art. 12 ff. Of the Bavarian E- Government Act.

Duration of the storage of personal data

Your data will only be stored for as long as is necessary to fulfill the task in compliance with statutory retention periods.

Your Rights

Insofar as we process personal data from you, you are granted the following rights as a data subject:

  • You have the right to demand information about the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR).
  • If incorrect personal data is processed, you have the right to have it corrected (Art. 16 GDPR).
  • If the legal requirements are met, you can request that the processing be deleted or restricted (Art. 17 and 18 GDPR).
  • If you have consented to the processing or a contract for data processing exists and the data processing is carried out using automated procedures, you may have the right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR).
  • If you have consented to the processing and the processing is based on this consent, you can withdraw your consent at any time for the future. This does not affect the lawfulness of data processing based on consent until its revocation.

You have the right to object to the processing of your data at any time for reasons that arise from your particular situation if the processing is based exclusively on Art. 6 Para. 1 Letter e or f GDPR (Art. 21 Para 1 sentence 1 GDPR).

B) Information about the website

Technical implementation

(Qualtrics) operate our web server for the questionnaires. The personal data you provide when visiting our website is therefore processed on our behalf by Qualtrics (2250 N. University Pkwy, 48-C, Provo, Utah 84604, USA).

The web experiment is hosted on devices of the LMU Munich School of Management of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and is provided and operated by the person responsible for the content (see contact of person responsible for the content).

Logging

When you access this or other Internet pages, you transmit data to our web servers via your Internet browser. The following data is recorded during an ongoing connection for communication between your Internet browser and our web servers:

  • Date and time of the request
  • Name of the requested file
  • Page from which the file was requested
  • access status (file transferred, file not found, etc.)
  • web browser and operating system used
  • complete IP address of the requesting computer
  • amount of data transferred
  • Sessions and participant ids

After the end of the connection, the data is anonymized by shortening the IP address at domain level, so that it is no longer possible to establish a reference to individual users. Before the participation data is processed and evaluated, all data is completely anonymized so that it is not possible to identify or draw conclusions about individual participants.

Active Components

We use active components such as Javascript, Java applets or Active-X Controls. This function can be switched off by you through the setting of your internet browser.

Cookies

When you access this website, we store cookies (small data sets) on your device that are valid for the duration of your visit to the website ("session cookies"). We only use these during your visit to our website. Most browsers are configured to accept the use of cookies. However, this function can be switched off for the current session or
permanently by setting the Internet browser. For the correct functionality of the experiment, the use of session cookies is mandatory. At the end of your visit, your browser should automatically delete these cookies.
