Last week, we were happy to host Prof. Dr. Mary Beth Watson-Manheim from the University of Illinois Chicago at the Institute for Innovation Management.

During her week with us, she gave a talk titled “Da Vinci 5: An industry imaginary and a critical counter-imaginary”. She presented research on the digital transformation of healthcare through robotic surgery, and on the evolving role of Intuitive Surgical in this process. The talk examined the potential effects on surgeons, hospitals, and patients, and considered possible future paths alongside current developments.
It was great to engage with this important topic and to discover intersecting research interests with our team at IIM. Thank you, Mary Beth, for visiting us and sharing your work!
