16 Jul 2026

The Professorship for Managerial Accounting hosted the second MAC² – Joint Management Control Research Seminar, welcoming researchers from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU).

On July 14–15, 2026, the second MAC² – Joint Management Control Research Seminar took place at the LMU Munich School of Management. The Professorship for Managerial Accounting welcomed researchers from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) for two days of intensive academic exchange on current topics in management accounting research.

Organized under the academic leadership of Prof. Dr. Friedrich Sommer and Prof. Dr. Ivo Schedlinsky, the seminar focused on effective research communication, ongoing research projects, and methodological issues in experimental research. Through presentation exercises, constructive feedback sessions, and discussions of experiences from international academic conferences, participants explored how to communicate research convincingly, respond confidently to challenging questions, and engage in productive scholarly discussions.

The project sessions also provided an opportunity to further develop ongoing research projects. In an open and collaborative atmosphere, participants discussed new research ideas, reflected on methodological challenges, and explored opportunities for future collaboration.

A particular highlight was the brownbag session in the English Garden, where participants exchanged ideas on the importance of questionnaires for experimental studies in an informal setting.

The MAC² seminar once again highlighted the close academic collaboration between the Professorship for Managerial Accounting at LMU Munich School of Management and colleagues from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. The event provided valuable input for ongoing joint research and the further development of current research projects.
