Munich Summer Institute
Vivid discussions in a summerly atmosphere
Discussing, networking & inspiring – The Munich Summer Institute (short MSI) is an established annual conference aimed at stimulating a rigorous in-depth discussion of cutting-edge research and establishing a focal point for the international research community in the field of innovation. As innovation is a very broad area of research, several disciplines and research projects meet at MSI. The discussants, speaker and participants are mainly researchers in economics, law, management at all stages of their careers, but related fields are also represented.
The conference is organized by the Institute for Strategy, Technology and Organization at Ludwig-Maximilians-University (LMU) Munich, the Max-Planck-Institute for Innovation and Competition (MPI-IC), the Chair for Technology and Innovation Management at TUM and the Center for Law & Economics at ETH Zurich co-hosted the conference. It takes place in the historic building of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities and hence, directly in the center of Munich. Apart from the ambience of the conference, guests often take the opportunity of a walk through the old town or the English Garden.
The conference’s program comprises presentations with subsequent discussion panels, keynote speeches as well as poster sessions. Emphasis is on the topics “Digitization, strategy and Organization”, “Innovation and Entrepreneurship” and “Law and Economics of Innovation”. Both the agenda and the conference dinner pose further opportunities to exchange ideas and initiate new projects.
