ISTO Welcomes New Team Members for the Winter Semester

17 Oct 2024

This winter semester, ISTO is excited to welcome three new team members: Svenja Friess, Sophia Wetzler, and Frederike Eulitz.

Svenja is about to complete her Ph.D. in Economics at LMU Munich and the MPI for Innovation and Competition under the supervision of Dietmar Harhoff. She wrote her doctoral thesis on “Behavioral Insights into Knowledge Work: Information Sourcing, Peer Effects, and Gender Disparities in Ideation”, reflecting her research interests in (digital) knowledge transfers, strategic organizational behavior, and inequality. Given the topical fit, Svenja will support the BIDT project on “Digital Collaboration Platforms as Enablers of Organizational Exchange ”.

Sophia has studied Management and Technology at the Technical University of Munich with a focus on Data Science and economics. After a two-year contract as a research assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition, where she worked on innovator migration and IAB data, she has recently joined LMU. Her research interests are user communities, remote work settings like the crowdsourcing platform Topcoder, and team building in digital environments.

Frederike has studied Business Administration at LMU Munich, specializing in strategy and digital business. In her master's thesis, she quantified the impact of an incentive change on participant behavior within the online labor market Upwork. Building on this work, her research interests include organizational behavior, (digital) platforms like online labor markets, and their users’ behavior.

We are delighted to welcome them to our team and wish them a good start at ISTO and LMU.
