At ISTO, the extensive support of young scientists is in focus. It is our aspiration to provide the next generation of researchers with qualifications beyond the preparation of an academic work.
Research requires first-class education both professionally and methodically. An internationalized academic job market and increasing expectations towards researchers have led to a complex academic environment. We want our students, PhD candidates and post-docs to acquire competences to successfully participate in the research community.
ISTO paves the way for a successful academic career. We encourage our junior scientists to bring their research results and ideas to the scientific discussion table and suggest an interdisciplinary thinking. To us, that means providing an inspiring environment with access to an excellent network as well as the opportunity of an early participation in the research community, e.g. international conferences and workshops.
