Substantial parts of the financial value chain are continuously being disrupted by technology-based innovators. The course offers a comprehensive exploration of modern securities markets, trading mechanisms, and market microstructure. It addresses both theoretical and practical aspects of financial markets and provides insights into market dynamics. Special focus is placed on algorithmic trading and the role of technological innovation.

Content
The seminar is offered regularly in the winter and summer term and aims at providing an overview over the most recent developments within the broad context of financial innovation and technology. The focus of the seminar is varying but generally covers the topics Market Microstructure, Big Data Analytics, Data Science as well as regulatory developments.

Students learn to elaborate and present scientific results in a structured manner using academic register. Results will be presented and discussed in a final meeting.
