empowerED!

Our empowerment program for early career researchers to strengthen academic resilience.

Growing together, researching successfully

As passionate scientists at our nationally and internationally renowned faculty, we know that the path in science can often be challenging - in addition to the enthusiasm for research, there are also phases full of uncertainty, setbacks and high demands. It is therefore particularly important to us to support our young academics in achieving their own goals in the best possible way. For this reason, our focus is not only on excellent research performance, but above all on the personal development and mental health of our early career researchers.

As part of our Empowerment Program for Junior Researchers ( empowerED!), we therefore offer our doctoral students and postdocs the opportunity to strengthen their academic resilience in order to better master challenges, emerge stronger from frustrating situations and fully develop their own potential. Together as professors, we want to lay the foundations for a healthy, successful and sustainable future in academia.

"Academic resilience means having the courage to learn from setbacks and the strength to get up again and again to keep your goal in sight."

The empowerED! Program consists of an open and a closed part and is specially tailored to the needs of our young scientists.

  • Open program section: This is available to all interested parties without prior registration. Here you can flexibly get involved in various topics and take part in workshops and lectures.
  • Closed program section: This includes at least one off-site retreat day for reflection and recharging resources, and offers more intensive support for a limited number of participants in order to be able to respond specifically to individual needs.

The aim of the program is to strengthen academic resilience and provide participants with effective tools for a successful and sustainable career in academia.

"Our program supports our early career researchers in developing their academic resilience and shaping their path in science in a successful and mentally healthy way."
