AI Tools for Management and Social Science

This is our "Hauptseminar" for Bachelor students. In this course, students will familiarize with a specific AI tool relevant for management and social science research. Students will review a specific topic, write a report and give a presentation on their findings.

Prerequisites
  • Prior participation and successful completion of "Introduction to AI" is recommended (not mandatory)
  • Sufficient programming skills required (e.g., R, Python), such as taught in one of our previous courses (e.g., Introduction to AI)
  • This is a "Hauptseminar" for which seats are allocated centrally through the faculty's Hauptseminaranmeldung
  • Successful completion of this course is a prerequisite to write a Bachelor thesis at our chair, exceptions are possible in individual cases

Description

In this seminar, students will familiarize with a specific AI tool relevant for management and social science research. Students will review a specific topic, write a report, and give a presentation on their findings. In line with our digital focus, we apply a digital and innovative teaching approach and course design. All materials and interactions are coordinated via Moodle. The course and assessment are in English.

Outline

  • Final dates and times will be shared via Moodle.
  • Kick-off session in the first week of the semester, via Zoom.
  • Topic selection during the first week of the semester, via Moodle.
  • Coaching sessions by individual arrangement.
  • Submission of seminar paper and video presentation via Moodle, approximately 10 weeks after the kick-off.
